Peake Ranch Winery
Being the new kids on the block, their tasting room having only open to the public in May of 2019, our primary goal has been to showcase the beauty of their freshly built winery and tasting room and encourage new visitors with social media marketing.
Peake Ranch is located on the eastern end of the Sta. Rita Hills AVA in Buellton, CA on the original Sanford Winery site, so we wanted to pay homage to its rich history in the wine world, while simultaneously showing its modern leanings.
The Vineyards
Peake Ranch makes wine from two vineyards in the Sta Rita Hills: it's own estate vineyard on Santa Rosa Road, as well as John Sebastiano Vineyard on HWY 246. Though the vineyards are only about three miles apart as the crow flies, the wines from each vineyard are significantly different due to unique soil, topography, and vineyard elevation... in short terroir. We wished to highlight these differences.
The Winery
We continue to capture Peake Ranch's winemaking team of Wynne Solomon and assistant winemaker, Lauren Tallon, going about their day to day tasks in the winery: racking, topping, sampling, and cleaning... so much cleaning.
The idea is to take their audience behind the scenes of what really goes on at a winery.
Harvest 2019
I had the immense honor of photographing Peake Ranch's first harvest in their newly built winery. I captured the harvest of their rosé of pinot noir from vine to press to fermentation tank.
Harvest 2020
Peake Ranch put together a stellar harvest team this year of five incredible women. This harvest, we wanted to show the challenges of harvesting amidst a pandemic but also share how this team could overcome those challenges handily.
The Tasting Room
Peake's new tasting room is nestled perfectly amongst the hills surrounding their vineyard. So much attention to detail went into its creation. We wished to highlight the texture and warmth of the tasting room to invite guests to visit.
Bottles in the wild
We have begun capturing images of Peake Ranch wines "in the wild." In other words, capturing bottles in such a way that guests can imagine themselves enjoying the wine.
